Engines, 0-60 acceleration and top speed
Jeep offers the Renegade with a choice of two petrol options and a plug-in hybrid model with two power outputs.
Front-wheel drive variants are powered by either a 118bhp 1.0-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine, or a 148bhp 1.3-litre, four-cylinder unit. The lower-powered version manages 0-62mph in 11.2s, while an extra 30bhp buys you a sprint time of 9.4s. The 4xe plug-in hybrid model is the fastest Renegade with a time of 7.5s (7.1s for the 237bhp TrailHawk version).
MPG, CO2 and running costs
Choosing a Renegade plug-in hybrid model means you’ll benefit from vastly improved economy and lower CO2 emissions
The entry-level 118bhp 1.0-litre car is reasonably efficient, delivering an average of 43.5mpg on the combined cycle. CO2 emissions are a little high, though, at 147g/km, putting it in the 33% BiK tax bracket for company car users.
Moving up to the more powerful 148bhp 1.3-litre model sees a slight fall in economy to 42.8mpg, with 150g/km of CO2 and a 1% increase in the BiK rate.
Business users or those regularly undertaking shorter journeys might be swayed towards the Renegade 4xe plug-in hybrid model. Starting from just under £33,000, it’s more expensive to buy than the petrol-powered versions, but Jeep claims the 4xe is able to run for up to 31 miles on electric power alone. The overall fuel economy figure sits at around 112mpg — as long as you’re able to keep the battery topped up. CO2 emissions of 51g/km means a 14% Benefit-in-Kind rate.
Performance: 9/15
For 2023, every Renegade gets the same 1.3-liter four-cylinder engine and nine-speed automatic transmission. The old 2.4-liter “Tigershark” engine offered in previous years is no longer available. The 1.3-liter turbocharged powerplant produces 177 horsepower and 210 pound-feet of torque. The latter peaks at a mere 1,750 rpm, which helps the Renegade accelerate well from a dead stop. It’s fun to drive in the city, but the power output isn’t ideal for passing at highway speeds, where the engine can feel underpowered.
All models are sold in 4WD configurations, and a center stack dial with four traction control settings (Auto, Snow, Sand and Mud) is standard equipment. But not all Renegades are alike off the pavement. The Trailhawk gets an extra setting: Rock mode, and a host of mechanical upgrades. It also benefits from hill-descent control, which is not available on other models.
The Trailhawk model, as the name suggests, is trail rated, which means that the transmission can be locked into low gear with a 21:1 crawl ratio for serious off-roading. It also benefits from a 0.8-inch increase in height, on/off-road tires, skid plates, and front and rear tow hooks. Its extra ground clearance and suspension tweaks also make for better wheel articulation, up to 8.1 inches. When properly equipped, the Renegade can tow a maximum of 2,000 pounds. That’s not much, but it’s enough for a small equipment trailer or pod camper.
Is the 2022 Jeep Renegade Worth it? Which Renegade is the Best Value?
If a small SUV with a big personality, distinct looks and genuine off-road capability is important, then the Renegade might be the right vehicle for you. While the base model (Latitude) is available for $31,590 (including $1,595 destination fee), it lacks a lot of the features that drivers will find appealing.
By a country mile the star of the Renegade lineup is the Trailhawk model, which comes with an upgraded off-roading package for $33,540, including destination. As the off-road capability and Jeep ruggedness are the main draw of the Renegade, this would be our choice for the best value in the lineup. There’s nothing else this small that will perform like this off-road, at least not among new vehicles. Only Subaru’s Crosstrek comes close, and it’s both larger and less distinctive.
However, if off-road ability isn’t really that important to you, it’s hard to justify spending this much on the Jeep over the better-equipped, less expensive and more spacious competition from Kia and Hyundai.
Boot
The boot offers a competitive 351 litres of space with the seats in place, and up to 1,297 litres when they’re folded. This is similar to rivals like the Nissan Juke and the MINI Countryman – the latter has an impressive 450-litre boot capacity, but only 1,170 litres with the seats folded.
Only top-spec Renegade models are available with 40:20:20 split folding seats as an option, and the load space isn’t the easiest to use, as the boot lip can be awkward. On the plus side, there’s a reversible floor, giving you a ‘wipe clean’ option.
Towing
The 2.0-litre diesel Renegade is a decent tow car, with a 1,500kg towing capacity, although this figure drops to 1,250kg for the 1.0-litre petrol engine.
Reliability and Safety
Fiat ownership adds to question marks over the reliability of Jeep models, but the Renegade scores highly for safety
With products like the Renegade, Jeep is looking to improve on its patchy reliability record, but neither the Renegade model nor the Jeep brand featured in our latest Driver Power customer satisfaction survey.
The Renegade is based on the Fiat 500X crossover, and given the parts sharing between the two brands, we’re not reassured by the ownership satisfaction potential. So while we look forward to seeing the car make an appearance in future Driver Power charts, we don’t hold out too much hope for a strong showing.
Back in 2014, Euro NCAP awarded the Renegade a full five-star rating for safety, however as a mark of ever-improving standards in this area, Jeep’s small SUV only managed a three-star rating when retested in 2019 under more stringent testing. Although adult and child protection achieved 82% and 84% scores, respectively, pedestrian safety was poor in some areas.
All models benefit from a high-strength steel body construction, a multitude of airbags and other features such as traffic sign recognition, a lane-departure warning system and rollover mitigation that helps to prevent the car tipping over during emergency manoeuvres.
Optional safety kit includes automatic emergency braking, blind-spot warning systems and rear cross protection, which alerts you to vehicles approaching the back of the car while reversing.

Jeep Renegade Review 2023
The Renegade might be the smallest SUV in Jeep’s lineup, but make no mistake, just like any other offering from US automaker, this sub-compact SUV is a true-blue SUV by all means. The dimensions of the Renegade do make it look a little small, however, this SUV is armed with all the top-notch hardware which a vehicle of this price can get. Available in only one top-spec Limited variant in the Philippines for Php 1.94 million, the Renegade is offered in a total of ten color options – Black, Alpine White, Anvil, Carbon Black, Solar Yellow, Colorado Red, Glacier Metallic, Jetset Blue, Mojave Sand, and Omaha Orange.

Powertrain
The current powertrain of the Jeep Renegade 4xe pairs a 1.3-litre petrol engine with electric motors both at the front and rear axle. The motor on the front axle, in addition to aiding the engine, acts as a high-voltage generator. The rear motor features the reduction gear and integrated differential (e-axle) with an output of 60 hp and 250 Nm. The electric motors are powered by an 11.4 kWh, 400 Volt, Lithium-Ion, nickel-manganese-cobalt battery pack.
The combined output for the Limited and Longitude variants is 190 hp, and for the off-road spec Trailhawk, it is 240 hp. The hybrid powertrain also enables an electric-only drive range of 26 miles or 42 km (WLTP). Various drive modes on the Renegade include Snow, Mud & Sand, Rock and Auto. The 2023 Jeep Renegade 4xe PHEV should premiere with the same features and specifications.
New Jeep Renegade 2023 Trim
With a few tweaks the New Jeep Renegade 2023 is back to anchor the Jeep brand. It may be the smallest entry in the Jeep lineup, but it’s nothing short of the brand’s finishing attitude.
When it was first introduced, much was made of its association with Fiat. However, running through a piece of wilderness in his Trailhawk class and the last thing that pops into your head is a Fiat.
In fact, we consider the Renegade to be the most viable subcompact SUV/crossover for off-roading. Plus, we love traditional Jeep styling and cutting-edge technology.
We also appreciate the range of driver aids, standard across all trim levels.
Competitors include the Honda HR-V, Nissan Rogue Sport, and Chevy Trax. Jeep offers the Renegade in four classes: Sport, Latitude, Limited and Trailhawk.
We’re pleased to note that Jeep decided to do a deep-six 2.4 liter 4-cylinder in favor of the lower class for 2021.
Each Renegade will now draw its thrust from the standard 1.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder in last year’s top trim. The fixed 9-speed automatic transmission distributes engine production to the wheels.
Only the Sport claims front-wheel drive (FWD) as standard. Adding all-wheel drive (AWD) will set you back $1,600. Every other class provides AWD as standard equipment.
With AWD comes the Selec-Terrain with settings for snow, sand and mud.
The government’s estimated fuel economy for the Sport FWD is 24 miles per city gallon, 32 mpg on the highway, and 27 mpg in combined driving.
That figure drops slightly to 23 mpg city/29 mpg highway/26 mpg combined with turbocharged and AWD engines, except for the Trailhawk. Estimated mileage is 22/27/24.
2022 Jeep Renegade Sport (Starts at $22.495)
Known as the only version of the Renegade with standard FWD, the Sport is Renegade’s economical offering. However, it is still well equipped.
It comes with 16-inch steel wheels, electric heated mirrors, power windows, electric door locks, dual-zone automatic climate control, full-length center console and fabric seating.
Also included are 60/40 folding rear seats, keyless entry, push-button start, and a tilt-telescopic steering wheel.
Among the infotainment system features are the Uconnect 4 with a 7-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth with voice recognition, satellite radio capability, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.
Other infotainment content includes a 6-speaker audio system, a USB port, and an additional input jack.
Standard driver aids are blind spot monitoring with rear traffic warning, lane guard assistance, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, and lane departure warning.
The Sport qualifies for the Sport Appearance Group ($1,095) including 17-inch aluminum wheels, black side roof rails, and tinted glass.
Adding a $1,495 destination fee to the base price of Sports equals $23,990. With no down payment, financing that amount for 60 months at 3% interest earned $431 per month. Find a Jeep Renegade Sport for sale.

2023 Jeep Renegade Price
Apart from minor safety changes the 2023 Jeep Renegade will be the successor to the previous model as the exterior design was recently facelifted with a revised bumper, new LED headlights, and a slightly larger grille.
In terms of dimensions, maybe this year’s Renegade will be longer than the previous model. The model year 2023 Jeep Renegade will offer the same amount of trim. For hardcore off-road fans there will be the usual top-of-the-line Trailhawk. The trim will start at around $30,000 this time around but apart from the off-road upgrade, it won’t offer much.
If you want the most premium experience, we recommend that you opt for the Latitude trim as it offers features such as dual zone climate control and upgraded interior materials. The Sun and Sound package will add a Kenwood audio system, panoramic sunroof.
With the Comfort package, you’ll continue to get heated front seats, an adjustable driver’s seat and a 115-volt power outlet. You can upgrade to an all-wheel-drive system for just an extra $1500. This makes for a pretty balanced package in terms of features as well as price.
The Jeep Renegade with a base MSRP of just under $24,000 remains the most affordable SUV in the Jeep region yet extremely capable in the compact SUV segment. With the changes made this year, the Renegade has become even more desirable and remains a practical choice for those looking for the right SUV in compact dimensions.
Though not without its own set of cons which we have covered in detail at the end of this review. In the compact SUV segment, there are several SUVs that the Jeep Renegade needs to compete with. Most notable of these are the Honda HR-V, Ford Escape, Mazda CX-30, Kia Seltos, and Subaru Crosstrek.
That said, as soon as the Renegade 4XE, a plug-in hybrid version of the regular Renegade, is expected to debut in America, it is already doing well in the Italian market where it launched in the first quarter.
Pricing for the 2023 Jeep Renegade will likely stay close to the current model’s price. Those prices range from $24,345 to $31,440 MSRP, including destination fees.
Interior
The 2022 Renegade comes with a 7-inch fully digital instrument panel (the same as the Fiat Toro), a new steering wheel, and an 8.4-inch multimedia centre in the Brazilian market. Image: Motor1 Brazil/Jeep
On the inside of the 2022 Jeep Renegade, the overall layout of the cabin should remain the same, except for the addition of USB-C ports on the dashboard, a new steering wheel, digital instrument cluster, updated software for the digital infotainment system. The upholstery might also witness an upgrade depending on the variant. Customers would continue having three variants to pick from — Longitude, Limited and Trailhawk.
2023 Jeep Renegade: What’s New?
Jeep removed the base Renegade Sport for 2023, the only trim with standard front-wheel drive. The lineup now consists of the Latitude, Limited, and Trailhawk, all with standard all-wheel drive or a 4×4 drivetrain. Instead of giving us an all-new Renegade, Jeep has comprehensively updated the exterior and interior packages for each trim level. For instance, the Premium Group for Renegade Latitude has more goodies like an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a power driver’s seat with a two-way lumbar adjuster, heated front seats, roof rails, and cornering fog lights.
Moreover, the High Altitude Package for Renegade Latitude includes gloss black badging, neutral gray grille rings, and 19-inch granite crystal alloy wheels. At the same time, the Limited Elite Group has a full suite of LED exterior lighting (fog lamps, projector headlights, taillamps, and daytime running lights).
Moving over to Renegade Trailhawk, the Elite Group has leather seats, a heated tiller, a windshield de-icer, and an eight-way power driver’s seat. Other changes include a new Detonator Yellow color palette to go with Alpine White, Black, Colorado Red, Slate Blue, Sting-Gray, and Graphite Gray.
All Renegade variants come with a Uconnect 8.4-inch infotainment touchscreen with standard navigation, satellite radio, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth connectivity. The Latitude adds 17-inch alloy wheels, tinted rear glass, keyless entry, and automatic headlights, while the Limited gets leather upholstery and 18-inch wheels. Standard on the Trailhawk is a matte black hood decal, underbody skid plates, a full-size spare tire, and raised suspension.

New Jeep Renegade 2023 Feature
The 2023 Jeep Renegade trims on offer are the same four trims as the previous 2021 along with some special edition trims. The trim levels will start with the Sport trim and Trailhawk trim along with the Limited trim sharing the top of the list and priced at just a little under $30,000.
The two lower trims, the Sport and Latitude, start at $22,495 and $26,495, respectively. The 2023 Jeep Renegade has dropped the base 2.4-liter naturally aspirated inline-4 engine and has given the 1.3-liter turbocharged inline-4 engine as standard across the lineup.
Until recently, the turbo-four was optional on the Sport and Latitude trims and standard on the Limited and Trailhawk trims. Another notable change this year is that except for the Sport trim, all other trims come standard with 4WD while the Sport has FWD as standard and 4WD costs an additional $1,600.
Apart from the standard feature set, the feature set seen on the Limited and Trailhawk trims is optional on the lower trim. For example, the Comfort Group Package which incorporates heated and power-adjustable front seats, heated and leather-wrapped sight wheels, automatic wipers with windshield wiper de-icer, auto-dimming mirrors are optional on the Latitude trim while the same is standard on the Limited and trailhawk.
Talking about the Limited trim here you get the Luxury Group Package as an option which adds rear parking sensors, rear automatic brakes, adaptive cruise control, LED headlights, etc. Meanwhile the Trailhawk trim offers the above package and the Trailer Tow Group Package which includes a four-pin wiring harness and a Class III towing hitch.
2023 Jeep Renegade Interior
The interior of the Jeep Renegade has a very minimalist approach and for the 2022 model year, Jeep has kept most of it unchanged except for a new steering wheel design and a new touchscreen unit.
The cabin is quite spacious and can accommodate up to five people. The material used in the cabin is not too luxurious, especially the dashboard which is made of a combination of hard and soft plastic.
The seats offered are decent with ample headroom and legroom for both rows. One can choose between leather or cloth upholstery material. The upholstery is good with enough grip.
Overall, the seats are comfortable and supportive. The floors get mats for all weather and the seats are washable, making them an offroad-biased necessity.
The storage capacity is decent with space provided under the armrest and several pockets around the car.
With this 2023 Jeep Renegade offering 18.5 cubic feet of cargo space and with the rear seats fully folded, cargo space can be increased to 50.8 cubic feet. The Limited and Trailhawk trims and higher get 40/20/40 folding rear seats while the Sport and Latitude trims get 60/40 folding rear seats.
The infotainment system of the 7-inch Renegade touchscreen unit is expected to come with the UConnect 5. That said, the UConnect interface is very intuitive and easy to use and offers smartphone connectivity via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. While the audio is played through a six-speaker sound system.
Recently, the 2022 Jeep Compass stole the show with a new interior that gives it a luxurious feel. Also, rumors suggest that Stellantis is working on an even smaller Jeep than the Renegade.
So, where exactly is the 2022 Jeep Renegade? The Renegade rides on a small Wide 4×4 platform, but the new Jeep will be built on the Compact Modular Platform (CMP) and use engines from PSA.
The new Jeep will have a four-wheel drive system. Rumors suggest it will have a combustion engine driving the front wheels and an electric rear axle. So, like the Renegade, the new baby Jeep will have the 4xe moniker.
The interior of the Renegade is open and airy with plenty of head and shoulder room, even with an optional panoramic sunroof. Rear legroom, however, is cramped for the class.
The square door opens wide, and the seat is high enough for easy entry and exit. The thick windshield roof pillars interfere with forward visibility, but the large side and rear windows, together with the large exterior mirrors, make it easy to see out from the side and rear.
The Renegade has easy-to-reach knobs and buttons with clear labels. The main menu in the infotainment system is placed along the bottom of the screen and remains visible even with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration active.
Its 8.4-inch touchscreen and Uconnect infotainment system are among the best in this class. It features a clean and easy-to-use menu system, a high-resolution touchscreen, and standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. Our test Renegade had two USB ports and two 12 volt outlets.
The Renegade offers a decent amount of driver assistance, such as adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring and lane departure warning. They work pretty well, but only offering adaptive cruise control in the upper Limited trim – where it’s often included as standard equipment on rivals – is a bit lame.
In the competition, Renegade is not far behind. The only thing lacking is the rear seat legroom and the standard cargo capacity on offer. Other than that, it’s a pretty practical car.
Other cars in the competition offer similar front cabin space. But when you come to the back the HR-V and Escape are the most extensive. Meanwhile, cargo capacity is among the best in the Escape, followed by the HR-V.
Interior Features:
- Heated and power-adjustable front seats
- Heated, leather-wrapped steering wheel
- Dual zone automatic climate control
- Automatic dimming in the rearview mirror
- Rear USB port
2023 Jeep Renegade Preview
The Jeep Renegade has been around since 2015 and has received modest changes over the years. For this year Jeep completes the list of standard features to include more technological and safety gear.
Also, a limited edition Islander trim joins the product line. Renegade 2023 is likely to be a carryover with some changes.
The Jeep Renegade is a subcompact utility vehicle with a small but roomy cabin for four. It shares the platform with the Fiat 500X, but is designed for off-road adventures where the Fiat doesn’t.
Indeed, some trims have front tow hooks, skid plates, along with a specially designed front end to increase ground clearance. It comes with 18.5 cubic feet of standard cargo space or 50.8 cubic feet with the rear seats folded.
The cabin is neat and orderly, as we always see with the Renegade. Chunky styling, metallic accents and hard black plastic are the rule. But the fit and finish is pretty good.
Most models have fabric seating surfaces with leather upholstery, heated front seats, heated steering wheel and power-adjustable front seats in select trims.
On the technology front, the Renegade comes with a 7-inch touchscreen, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone compatibility, one USB port, Bluetooth connectivity, and six speakers. Among the upgrades available are an 8.4-inch touchscreen display, navigation, an additional USB port, and a nine-speaker audio system with HD Radio.
The standard 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine produces 180 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque. The transmission of power to the front or all four wheels utilizes a 9-speed automatic transmission.
Also available is a turbocharged 1.3-liter four-cylinder engine with 177 horsepower and 210 pound-feet of torque. This one also works with a 9-speed automatic and does a better job of moving this little utility vehicle.
Jeep expanded the list of standard Renegade safety equipment in 2020 and continued this year.
All models are equipped with blind-spot monitoring, rear traffic warning, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning and fixed lane assist. Also available are automatic high-beam headlights, adaptive cruise control, front and rear parking sensors and parking assist.
Infotainment: 10/15
An 8.4-inch touchscreen is standard on all models and comes with GPS navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto (which works well), SiriusXM Radio and AM/FM radio. A six-speaker audio system is standard equipment, while a nine-speaker premium audio system (with subwoofer) is available as part of a package. A single USB port and an auxiliary input jack are standard equipment on all models, while a rear USB port is standard on all Trailhawk and Limited.
While the touchscreen’s graphics may look a bit dated to some, the Renegade offers a nice mix of digital controls and physical knobs to control volume, channel selection and to turn the system on and off. Furthermore, steering wheel-mounted audio controls are standard on all models. Ambient lighting is standard on Trailhawk and Limited models, but not available on other trims.
The Renegade has one of the smallest cargo holds behind the rear seats of any of the small-fry SUVs. Jack Kazmierski
Cargo Space & Storage: 8/15
Compared with other vehicles in the segment, the Renegade has one of the smallest cargo holds, at least when the rear seats are in place, at 18.5 cubic-feet. Only the Mini Countryman (17.6 cubic-feet) and Fiat 500x (14.1) are worse. The Volkswagen Taos dominates this class at 27.9 cubic feet but the Seltos has 26.6 and the Trailblazer 25.3. Both of those models are only slightly smaller than the larger Jeep Compass, however. The Kona is closer to the Renegade at 19.2 cubic-feet within, and an almost equal size on the outside of the vehicle.
With the rear seats down things are better, the Renegade has 50.8 cubic-feet of cargo space, the Trailblazer has 54.4, and the Seltos offers 62.8. The Kona and 500x have less at 45.8 and 39.4 cubic-feet, respectively, but the Nissan Kicks brings up the rear at just 32.3 cubic-feet.
Storage space is limited in the Renegade’s passenger cabin. The armrest between the drive and front passenger has limited capacity, and there’s a small storage space in front of the gear shift, as well as in each of the doors. A slot near the cupholders works well as a cell-phone holder.
2023 Jeep Renegade Refresh
The New Jeep Renegade 2023 is a subcompact SUV that gives the right feel to Jeep DNA both inside and out. The Jeep Renegade 2023 is expected to be released in the last quarter of 2022, with the same 180 hp 2.4L Inline-4 engine unit.
Although if the rumors are believed to be true, it might also come with the addition of a few variants like a hybrid or full electric version as Jeep has been focused in that domain for a while now on other cars like the Compass and Wrangler.
Currently, we expect prices to range between $25,500 for the base Sport model and up to $31,000 for the top-of-the-line Trailhawk variant.
The new Renegade will more or less carry the same features and design with some improvements on the safety front. It rivaled other SUVs such as the Honda HR-V, Ford Escape, and Mazda CX-3. But should it be your SUV of choice? Let’s find out.
Jeep is currently pricing the Renegade slightly higher than some of its other competitors offering better value for money but not better off-road capability.
So, because of its true potential in off-road, it justifies the price. With the 2023 Jeep Renegade we expect the price to be a bit higher but a big price hike is unlikely.
The Jeep looks as poised for the next major 2023 update as it did with the 2020 iteration. Having said that, the same list of features and design silhouettes is expected for 2021 MY as well but with slight changes. The Renegade will continue to build on the same platform on which it is currently built as per the report.
Interior
The inside of this crossover hasn’t changed too much since the initial launch. Therefore, it’s no wonder that most younger classmates look better from the inside. Still, the Renegade is far from looking bad. The overall quality is good, even though most of the cabin is trimmed with hard plastics. On the other hand, ergonomics aren’t ideal and somehow, the driving position should be better.
When it comes to the passenger space, this crossover is surprisingly roomy, thanks to its boxy shape. Both rows can accommodate adult passengers, despite the pretty short wheelbase. The cargo area also offers pretty decent numbers for the segment. You may count on about 18.5 cubic feet of cargo space with its rear seats upright and 50.8 cubic feet with those seats folded. That’s quite average for the segment.
2022 Jeep Renegade Redesign
The current model has been around for a while and it hasn’t changed too much meanwhile. We are still talking about the same SUV that was launched in 2015, which rides on a familiar Small Wide 4×4 platform. Many parts are shared with models like Fiat 500X, but there is a lot of unique styling solutions as well. With 101.2 inches in wheelbase, it is among shorter models in the class, but that definitely has its advantages, especially when it comes to off-roading. Also, the ground clearance goes around 8.7 inches.
When it comes to the styling, we saw a mild facelift a few years ago, which has brought a couple of novelties, particularly at the front. Still, the overall styling is pretty similar to what we can see in earlier models. The general impression is pretty good. Despite the age, this model still looks quite appealing.
Feisty Turbocharged Engine
The 2023 Jeep Renegade is soldiering on with a standard 1.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 177 horsepower and 210 lb-ft. of torque. All trim variants get a nine-speed automatic coupled with an all-wheel (Jeep Active Drive) or a 4×4 (Jeep Active Drive Low 4×4) drivetrain.
The Renegade Trailhawk is the most off-road-ready of the bunch and has a 21:1 crawl ratio, 8.7-inches of ground clearance, and up to 8.1 inches of wheel articulation. It also has hill descent control and up to 19 inches of water fording capability. In addition, Renegade Trailhawk can tow up to 2,000 lbs. when properly equipped.
