2023 Porsche 718 Boxster Specs
With its two-door styled convertible body, the 2023 Porsche offers a thrilling driving experience with plenty of fun thanks to its open roof design. Don’t expect too much space from the Boxster as it fits two passengers nicely with a good front and rear cargo space due to its mid-engined design. The car offers a great interior with high-quality materials and comfortable seats.
Interior and Seating Comfort
The interior of the new Porsche 718 Boxster 2022 is a little more plastic than we expected in this expensive car, but buyers can cover the console lid, door panels, and upper instrument cluster for a relatively affordable price. The Boxster’s two dash-mounted pop-out cup holders are of limited use and express a cultural disdain for driving in drinks.
After all, Germans don’t drink coffee while driving a car. If you’re looking for a car that will fit in its cabin for a lifetime, look elsewhere. These two chairs have very little space. Neither the Boxster nor the Cayman has particularly useful storage space, having at least some cargo space at the front and rear.
Just like fuel economy, trunk space isn’t one of the most important factors when looking at a sports car, but the Boxster does come in handy. The rear storage space offers 4.4 cubic feet of volume, while the front trunk has 5.2 cubes – enough for one or two pieces of hand luggage.
However, the cabin is less versatile. You get a pop-out cup holder on the dash, but these are only included because people ask for them, of course – not because Porsche approves drinks in their cars. There are also narrow door pockets and small gaps between seats, but you will likely have to fit most of your belongings into an average-sized glove box.
Porsche 718 Boxster dashboard
The three instrument cluster buttons sit exactly in line with your eye so you don’t have to take your eyes off the road to keep an eye on the instrument, while the infotainment system – controlled via the seven-inch touchscreen – feels a lot more modern and more user-friendly than before with the Boxster. Apple CarPlay is also available, so connecting an iPhone to a system isn’t easy, but Android Auto isn’t even an option. All buttons and controls on the dashboard are well placed.
Equipment
As with Porsche Tradition, the standard equipment of the Boxster is quite short for the price of the car, the list of optional equipment is long and expensive. What you get, however, is a touchscreen-controlled infotainment system that, in addition to Apple CarPlay connectivity, also includes Bluetooth connections and a USB socket. You also get automatic bi-xenon headlights, LED daytime running lights, LED taillights, sports seats with Alcantara and synthetic leather covers, as well as electrically adjustable and heated air conditioning and mirrors.
Infotainment and connectivity
We usually complain about only two USB ports, but considering this car seat only has two, how many more ports do you need? There is also a standard CD player for drivers who still listen to CDs. Buyers can choose between navigation and WiFi hotspots. Porsche is now offering Apple CarPlay integration as a standard tariff, but Android Auto is still not being offered.
The Interior and Technology Featured are Acceptable
Via: Facebook
The interior of this two-seater from Porsche is not something to brag about. It’s perfectly fine, but it’s pretty small. Small is okay, but this ride also lacks many features one would expect from one with its price tag.
The driver and passenger get two dash-mounted cup holders, which isn’t very much and could get awkward while driving. There is also a great deal of plastic inside the car, but this can be covered in leather. In terms of storage, there is a compartment at both the front and the rear of the vehicle. It is reported that you can fit a single carry-on in the back and two in the front.
In terms of technology, it’s all mostly standard. You get two USB ports, which is fine, especially for a two-seater. Surprisingly enough, the car comes with a CD player. This may be useful to some, but maybe not for many. If you buy this car, you can also add a hotspot for Wi-Fi as well as add navigation. Apple CarPlay is now integrated, but Android Auto is not.
This car has what you need from the interior and not very much else. It’s a simpler approach, whereas as most carmakers tend to overload cars with the bells and whistles.
Fuel Economy is Okay
Via: Facebook
According to the EPA, the base model for the Porsche 718 Boxster can go for 20 miles on a single tank of fuel in the city. This version of the car can go 26 mpg on the highway. The optional seven-speed automatic previously mentioned earns one additional mpg in each. However, car and driver has tested both the base model and the S and have found that the fuel economy for both cars is better than what the EPA states.
Although fuel economy is not the best for this car, the Porsche 718 Boxster is a real winner. Most people who buy vehicles like this don’t care a great deal about the fuel economy, so it doesn’t take too much away from this one.
2022 Porsche Boxster price
Porsche will produce the 2022 Boxster in five versions: Base, T, S, GTS, and Spyder. The main difference between them is the engine as they share similar functions and capabilities. The Boxster and Boxster T have a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, the Boxster S has a 2.5-liter four-cylinder, while the GTS and Spyder have a more powerful 4.0-liter six-cylinder.
If you don’t need the most powerful engine, basic equipment is a good choice. These machines are very powerful and are available in high-end equipment with many features.

Porsche Boxster GTS 4.0
Porsche Boxster GTS 4.0 costs $ 89,500 and goes up to a 4.0-liter six-cylinder boxer engine. It also has a Sport Chrono Package as well as other sportier tweaks like improved brakes, sporty suspension, sport pedals, and track applications.

Reliability Porsche Boxster 2022
Porsche prides itself on its engineering skills and there is no doubt that the 718 is a quality product that has been built to an extremely high standard. Keep in mind that both engines and many other vehicle systems were completely new at the time they were launched and have not yet proven themselves to be reliable.
Reliability
It is difficult to fully assess the reliability of the 2022 Porsche 718 Boxster as it was not included in our Driver Power Driver Satisfaction Survey. However, Porsche engineering skill is known worldwide and feels very well built. Don’t get me wrong, this is a very good car with a high-quality engine.
Safety
As a rule, Euro NCAP does not test small series cars like the Boxster, so we cannot give a final judgment on how well it behaves in a crash. However, when it comes to standard safety equipment, Porsche does not skimp, and the SUV Porsche Macan and Cayenne both receive a maximum of five stars for safety.
Of course, there is anti-lock, stability, and traction control as well as tire pressure control, roll bars, and specially reinforced steel on the sides in the event of a side impact. The windshield Windshield is made of specially reinforced steel to protect passengers in the event of a taxi.
If you want extra braking power, you can opt for carbon-ceramic brakes (very expensive), while active cruise control, lane departure warning, and ISOFIX child seat attachment points are optional extras.
How many miles can a Porsche 718 last?
The Porsche 718 Boxster is known for its durability and reliability. Porsche cars are built to perform well even after years of use. With proper care and maintenance, most Porsche vehicles can cover 150,000 miles.
Engine, Transmission, and Performance
New Porsche Boxster 2022 offers three engines: a 300 hp 2.0-liter boxer engine, a 350 hp 2.5-liter boxer engine with turbocharger (on the S model), and a 394 hp 4.0-liter boxer engine ( with the S model) and (GTS 4.0).
Each is associated with a more comfortable six-speed manual transmission, but buyers can opt for a seven-speed Porsche ClearVoyant automatic transmission. The basic model is a lot of fun and performed well in our tests. We haven’t had the chance to equip the new GTS 4.0 model with our gear, but we really hope it will impress us on the track.
The handling and maneuverability of the Boxster arouse deep affection. The center position of the machine will potentially allow the Boxster to rotate alternately in a balanced and stable manner, while the brilliantly communicative steering reacts quickly and precisely to even small inputs. Extras like Porsche adaptive dampers and the available torque vector rear-wheel differential only improve the handling of this car.
Transmission
Porsche Boxster 718 is equipped with a bespoke 6-speed manual transmission that is tuned to the characteristics of each engine. The shift lever has been shortened to 718 T for fast, sporty shifting. The result: shorter shift times and a sportier and more authentic driving experience.
Performance
Performance counts in sport. Suitable for the machine. Right for the brakes. That is why the 718, 718 T, and 718 S models are equipped with 4-piston monoblock aluminum fixed calipers. The 718 Boxster, 718 Cayman, and 718 T brake calipers are black. While the brake calipers model S and GTS 4.0 are red. The disc brakes have a diameter of 330 mm at the front and 299 mm at the rear. The brakes on the 718 S model are reinforced on the front axle.
In the 718 GTS 4.0 model, the brakes have been further reinforced and tuned for maximum performance: the front axle is equipped with a red six-piston monoblock aluminum monoblock fixed caliper. Disc brakes have a diameter of 350 mm at the front and 330 mm at the rear. In order to make them more resistant and yet lighter and to enable faster response behavior – even under extreme loads – the brake calipers are designed in a closed monoblock design. The pedal travel is short and the bite point is just right. The brake discs are drilled across and internally ventilated, which ensures better-wet braking and optimal cooling.
