Introduction:

Rolls Royce has always been the pinnacle of luxury and grace in automobiles. The Wraith has similarly been designed for the ones who are bold, curious and believe in pushing the boundaries for themselves. The all new Wraith is a four seater coupe inspired from company’s co-founder Sir Henry Royce who beleived in making the best of everything for the customers. With immense power, style, and drama within, the all new Wraith is ready for Malaysian market to rule the roads in Rolls Royce classic style. Taking inspiration from Phantom in designing, the carpets to orange needle tips of speedometer, Wraith’s agility, speed and refined power makes it the most potent and technologically advanced Rolls Royce.

Engine, Mileage & variants:

The Pantheon grille beholds a potent 6.6 litre, twin turbo charged V12 engine that gives maximum power of 624 bhp at 5600 rpm and maximum torque measuring 800 Nm between 1500 to 5500 rpm. The electronically controlled air suspension of Wraith further makes the signature ‘magic carpet ride’. The comfort doesn’t slow this machine down as it crosses the 100 km/hr mark in just 4.4 seconds reaching the top speed of electronically limited 250 kmph which is a result of the support that the engine gets from the 8-speed automatic transmission. The exorbitant engine of Wraith slightly lacks in efficiency by giving out just 7.1 km/l of fuel economy. Wraith is blessed to be equipped with one of the most powerful engine to ever come from Rolls Royce.

Exteriors:

The Wraith embodies the iconic front grille of the Rolls Royce brand along with its astonishing fastback contour emanating elegance along with power that makes it the boldest Rolls Royce. The wide rear track and aerodynamic lines fortify the athletic excellence and dynamism. The two tone paint combination of the car further enhance the compelling design. The absence of the b-pillar makes stepping in and out of Wraith effortless along with adding a classic touch to the exteriors. The dimensions of this huge car are 5269mm x 1947mm x 1507mm (L X W X H) with an exceptionally long wheel base of 3112mm that makes for the perfect luxury fastback shape. The car comes with 20-inch seven spoke wheels with an option of 21 inches and tyre size of 255/50 R21.

Interiors:

With the help of Bespoke programme Rolls Royce gives the flexibility to reflect the individuality in the car. The engineers and craftsmen work collaboratively to bring out the smallest details in the spot light. In order to keep the driver informed about the conditions of road the Head up display predicts the critical information in natural field of vision. All the occupants are treated like royalty and are never left unaided whenever it comes to comfort. Use of plush veneer and chrome underling makes the statement that Rolls Royce is famausly known for. The Bespoke Audio system helps in making the ambiance incredibly rich with music. The boot space of 470 Litres makes enough room to carry luggage on long rides.

Safety, Braking and Miscellaneous:

Rolls Royce has never compromised on the safety features and the same is reflected in new Wraith as the car include dual front, side, full length curtain airbags. The ventilated disc brakes work collaboratively with Anti- Lock Braking System (ABS), traction and stability control systems. The driver’s assistance system includes lane departure warning system, automatic high beams, rear and front parking sensors for secure driving experience in various situations. For better handling the car is installed with electronically controlled air suspension and tire pressure monitoring system that ensures one of the smoothest and hassle free drives on road.

Verdict:

Rolls Royce Wraith is an amalmagation of sports and luxury and is capable enough of enchanting and involving the occupants. But if you are really looking for a luxury sedan or a dedicated sports machine after spending a considereable amount of money then this coupe somewhere falls short in convincing the rightful audience where it actually belongs.

2022 Rolls-Royce Wraith : Interior

Inside, the quality is as great as you might expect, perfect wood and leather trim covers almost any visible surface, while the chrome buttons and handles feel like no cost savings. The entertainment system borrowed from BMW, but that’s not a bad thing because it’s so easy to use. The Rolls-Royce Wraith coupe consists of four people and has a bucket seat in each corner. The salon combines ancient world crafts with a modern look. The central bone is adorned with round air holes and the front seats have a massaging property that can soothe aching muscles on long discs. Royce great tourist offers more space than the Bentley Continental GT coupe, which gives only 13 cubes for your belongings.

Wraith’s list of options includes the selection of ventilated front seats and soft upholstery and interior decoration work. Parking lot also requires you to put all your confidence in the parking sensors, as the nailed rear pillars obscure much of your rear view. All Rolls-Royce Wraith 2022 models are equipped with a navigation system and an 18-speaker stereo. Bluetooth and audio streaming are standard, as well as a Wi-Fi connection.

The 2022 Wraith’s stunning twin-turbocharged 6.6-liter V-12 produces 624 horsepower and 605 pound-feet of torque, and features an eight-speed automatic transmission. With only a rear-wheel drive, this Rolls-Royce provides careful and controlled handling. Its steering is lightly weighted and the air passenger is adjustable so there are no shocks or vibrations to the occupants of the car. The Rolls-Royce Wraith has an EPA rating of fuel economy, 12 mpg in the city and 18 mpg on the highway. For information, the Bentley Continental GT has come a long way, offering 16 mpg city and 26 mpg highway.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), and the Road Safety Insurance Institute (IIHS) yet not gave Wraith an overall rating of crash tests. Rolls-Royce has a well-known selection of driver-friendly features designed to prevent accidents. However, there are a few drawbacks to note, there is no blind tracking system; Nor is it to reduce forward collisions. How it copes with people and clutter

Sitting in the back of a coupé isn’t always an enjoyable experience, but things are different in the Wraith. True, getting there isn’t particularly easy because you have to squeeze through a fairly narrow gap, you’ll have no issues with head and leg room unless you’re well over six-feet tall.

The 470-litre boot is fairly narrow, but it’s easily long enough for a couple of big suitcases, and is ultimately quite a bit bigger than a Bentley Continental GT’s.

The Wraith is a wide car, so as a driver you feel like you’re in a different postcode to your front passenger. Even the really tall are well catered for; the seats slide a long way back and there’s loads of room above your head.

Стоящий под капотом 12-цилиндровый турбированный силовой агрегат развивает 632 л.с. При этом плавность, с которой двигатель реагирует на нажатие педали акселератора, поражает. Автомобиль отзывается на подачу топлива незамедлительно, но делает это не резко, а прямо-таки по-кошачьи мягко. О турбопаузе и не вспоминаешь, потому, что ее нет. В потоке двигаться можно, едва «поглаживая» педаль «газа», и все равно ты едешь быстрее всех.

А еще можно воспользоваться режимом Low, нажав клавишу на подрулевом селекторе коробки передач. В отличие от Ghost, где этот режим кажется чужеродным, в купе Wraith он воспринимается очень даже органично. Реакции на «газ» обостряются (без потери плавности), а у двигателя вдруг появляется потрясающий 12-цилиндровый «голос». Набор скорости невероятно скор, но почти незаметен, в сиденье вдавливает сильно, но плавно. Чувство скорости притуплено так, что если не смотреть на спидометр, вполне можно принять 150 км/ч за 80.

Подвеска у Wraith более плотная, чем у соплатформенного седана. Тем не менее при активном разгоне автомобиль сильно приседает на «корму», словно скоростной катер, а передок, соответственно, идет вверх. Причем это происходит даже, когда скорость заметно превышает 100 км/ч. Плавность хода, несмотря на «ужесточенное» шасси, остается великолепной. Седоков могут потревожить лишь крупные неровности с резкими краями – все-таки 21-дюймовые колеса весят немало (думаю, на базовых 19-дюймовых дисках купе поедет просто идеально). Но больше всего поражает способность Wraith  нейтрализовать волны дорожного покрытия. Огромное купе, словно утюг, разглаживает профиль трассы. Лучше, чем Rolls-Royce, этого не умеет делать никто!

Общее ощущение от передвижения в этом автомобиле – чувство «веса». Каждой клеточкой своего тела понимаешь, что машина весит много, и от этого возникает необычайное чувство защищенности, а также независимости от внешних условий

Неважно, какая дорога под колесами, Wraith разгладит ее своим весом и с легкостью поедет дальше. Усугубляет чувство отрешенности от окружающего мира великолепная шумоизоляция – слышны только огромные шины, да и то несильно

Управляется купе так, словно ты стоишь на месте, а дорога сама перемещается под колесами. Rolls Royce Wraith непоколебим на высокой скорости и удивительно послушен в поворотах. Благодаря активным стабилизаторам поперечной устойчивости крены практически отсутствуют. Рулевое управление обладает более выраженным реактивным действием, чем у седана Ghost, но все равно остается достаточно легким. Информативность великолепна – я чувствую все, что происходит с передними колесами. На управляющие действия машина отвечает спокойно, при этом отслеживает заданную траекторию с высокой точностью.

Словом, сидеть за рулем в этом купе и легко, и приятно

Разве что на узких дорожках Wraith тесно из-за его непомерной ширины, но через пару дней привыкаешь и перестаешь обращать на это внимание

Говорят, если человек спрашивает, сколько стоит Rolls-Royce, то он не может себе его позволить. Но я все-таки скажу (глядишь, и покупателей прибавится, хотя кто-кто, а Rolls-Royce недостатка в клиентах не испытывает – кризисы бренду не помеха). Базовой комплектации на этот автомобиль не существует, а минимально укомплектованный Wraith обойдется примерно в 25 млн рублей.

What Car? says…

The Rolls-Royce Wraith isn’t like other coupés. At 5.3 metres long it’s closer in size to a Victorian semi than an Audi TT, and with a starting price of almost a quarter of a million pounds, it’s a lot closer in price, too.

It’s based on the platform of the Ghost luxury car (which in turn is based on the previous generation BMW 7 Series), but the Wraith has a shorter wheelbase and a wider rear axle than both of these cars to help make it more agile.

As is the case in all Rolls-Royces, power comes from a V12 petrol engine, but here it’s been tuned to produce a mighty 624bhp – more than any other car in the company’s illustrious history.

But is the Wraith really worth its extortionate asking price? Or could you have an equally good (or perhaps even better) car for considerably less cash? Read on over the next few pages to find out.

Press the dashboard-mounted starter button and the Wraith’s twin-turbo V12 engine stirs into life so smoothly and quietly you’ll barely notice. It’s a similar story when you pull away, because although the scenery starts to move, you remain wonderfully isolated from any engine noise or vibration.

Buying & owning

Everyday costs, plus how reliable and safe it is

It’s impossible to make a financial case for the Wraith. It might be supercar quick and supremely classy inside, but (objectively at least) there’s no way it’s worth nearly twice as much as a Bentley Continental GT V8 or a Mercedes S63 AMG Coupe.

However, if you look past the price and accept that anyone considering a Rolls is unlikely to be too fussed about an extra £100,000 or so, the Wraith has plenty of appeal. It’s far more comfortable and refined than similarly priced exotica, such as the Ferrari F12, and its stately looks and sheer size command attention that you simply won’t get in anything else.

Заходить (именно так – не садиться, а заходить) внутрь купе нужно учиться – для того, чтобы делать это элегантно. Все потому, что двери здесь открываются против хода и привычный алгоритм посадки неприемлем. Проще всего повернуться к дверному проему спиной и сначала сесть, а уже потом подтянуть ноги. После того как процесс завершится, вдруг обнаруживаешь, что до двери, чтобы ее закрыть, не дотянуться. Впрочем, на то он и Rolls-Royce, чтобы предусмотреть подобные казусы: для закрывания двери имеется специальная клавиша. Нажимаешь на нее – и дверца захлопывается сама, причем делает это очень быстро. А чтобы, не дай бог, никого не прихлопнуло, клавишу нужно все время держать. Отпустишь – дверь остановится.

Про убранство салона можно долго рассказывать… Пластмассовых деталей раз-два и обчелся. Даже фурнитура (различные клавиши, дефлекторы системы вентиляции) выполнена из настоящего, приятно холодящего руку металла. Надо ли говорить, что большинство салонных панелей обтянуто дорогущей кожей, источающей фирменный роллс-ройсовский аромат. А все, что не под кожей, отделано шикарным деревом. Им можно облицевать дверные панели почти целиком, но мой конкретный экземпляр щеголял специальной «пупырчатой» кожей, а его деревянные панели были покрыты рояльным лаком. Вообще же количество вариантов отделки насчитывает тысячи позиций, и здесь все целиком зависит от фантазии клиента.

Посадка за рулем относительно высокая, но воспринимается очень низкой из-за высокого расположения поясной линии и передней панели. Сиденье имеет чуть более плотную набивку, чем у седана Ghost, но все равно воспринимается мягким. Никаких дополнительных регулировок типа выдвижной подушки, ломающейся спинки и регулируемой боковой поддержки тут нет – только поясничный подпор. Но ничего и не требуется. Потому что в креслах просто утопаешь и после поездки не хочется их покидать. Геометрия посадки идеальна для людей высокого и среднего роста, а вот низкорослые седоки жалуются, что даже в самом высоком положении кресла они не могут разглядеть, где заканчивается капот, остается ориентироваться на изящную фигурку «Летящей леди». Зато чувство защищенности стопроцентное! Рулевое колесо традиционно большого диаметра имеет чуть более толстый обод по сравнению с седаном. Но есть некоторые проблемы с обзорностью. Так, расположенные на распашных дверях зеркала заставляют активнее крутить головой, а за толстенными передними стойками можно не заметить не только пешехода, но и автомобиль.

Эргономика отличная, хотя поначалу и могут возникнуть «непонятки». Например, как отрегулировать температуру, если градусы нигде не показываются, только два «ползунка» для верхней и нижней частей салона (для каждого седока свой, разумеется), работающих по принципу «теплее-холоднее». Однако все оказывается просто: в центральном положении «ползунков» климат поддерживает температуру 22° в автоматическом режиме, а если это не устраивает, можно сделать прохладнее или теплее. Бортовой интерфейс здесь, естественно, от BMW, являющейся владельцем бренда. Тот же iDrive, но элегантно замаскированный.

Не думаю, что в этой машине часто будут ездить на заднем сиденье, если вообще будут… Но проверить, каково там, надо. Отрегулировав переднее кресло под свои 180 см, пробую пересесть на «галерку». Дверной проем очень широкий, переднее сиденье отъезжает вперед достаточно, чтобы появился удобный проход. Словом, проникновение на второй ряд неудобств не доставляет. Устанавливаю переднее кресло в первоначальное положение и констатирую, что это самый просторный двухдверный автомобиль, на котором я  когда-либо ездил. Перед коленями и над головой места вдоволь, ступням под передним сиденьем удобно. Кресло шикарное, к тому же находиться в нем уютно, особенно если включить «звездное небо». Казалось бы, россыпь светодиодов на потолке, имитирующих звезды, ничего особенного и не представляет, но реальность превосходит все ожидания: у меня действительно возникло ощущение, что ясной ночью смотрю ввысь. И, конечно же, здесь раздельный климат-контроль, а можно заказать и мониторы в спинках передних кресел. В общем, второй ряд в этом двухдверном авто вполне полноценный и явно удобнее, чем в большинстве бизнес-седанов.

До этого рекорд принадлежал Rolls-Royce Ghost — 563 л.с. Максимальный крутящий момент составляет 800 Н·м, разгон до 100 км/ч — 4,6 с. Максимальная скорость ограничена 250 км/ч. Масса равна 2360 кг.

Rolls-Royce Wraith с тюнингом от Mansory имеет 740-сильный двигатель и способен развивать скорость до 300 км/ч.

В сравнении с седаном Ghost база автомобиля стала короче на 183 мм, центр тяжести располагается ниже, что придаёт лучшую управляемость.

Электроника

В модели Wraith впервые установлена система Satellite Aided Transmission, использующая данные спутниковой навигации для предсказания ожидаемого рельефа и типа трассы для заблаговременного выбора характеристик езды. Автомобиль оснащён голосовым управлением навигацией, проекционным дисплеем на лобовом стекле, адаптивными фарами и системой открытия багажника без ключа.

Мультимедийная система имеет жёсткий диск на 20,5 Гб. Встроенная акустическая система располагает мощностью 1300 ватт и обладает 18 динамиками.

Салон

В оформлении салона в традициях Rolls-Royce использована кожа и деревянные панели. Потолок, имитирующий звёздное небо, впервые применён на модели вне семейства Phantom.
