Speculation regarding production[]

It was reported on 22 March 2009 that production plans for the Lamborghini Estoque were cancelled. Lamborghini executives responded to this by stating that the Estoque had not reached the production planning stage and that the decision whether to produce the Estoque or not has been delayed due to sales and marketing considerations.Stephan Winkelmann, the Lamborghini chairman, has since indicated that a four-door Lamborghini is likely, stating that response to the Estoque showed opportunities for Lamborghini outside the sports car market. The release of the Lamborghini Urus in 2018 indicates that the 4-door market is one in which Lamborghini is interested in competing. However, Winkelmann also stated that Lamborghini does not have any plans to manufacture the Estoque and that it was only a concept vehicle.

Повадились тут недавно все кому не лень плодить шикарные четырехместные купе. Maserati Quattroporte уже покоряет мир, а скоро к ней присоединятся Porsche Panamera, Aston Martin Rapide и Fisker Karma.

Парни из Маранелло пока думают, а вот их конкуренты из Сант-Агаты решили от тусовки не отставать. И представили в Париже умопомрачительное и одновременно странное творение Lamborghini Estoque. Если театр начинается с вешалки, то рассказ про сей автомобиль следует начать с его названия. Любой поклонник этой замечательной марки скажет вам, что в названия многих моделей связаны с быками, принимавшими участие в корридах. И выпускающиеся ныне Murcielago и Gallardo – как раз из этой оперы. Так вот, «эсток» – а именно так следует читать Estoque – есть не что иное, как клинок, которым тореадоры убивают быка, заканчивая схватку. Сомнительно, что такое «убийственное» название было выбрано случайно.К счастью, современные быки с фермы Lamborghini могут быть спокойны. Во-первых, Estoque всего лишь концепт. Во-вторых, его и автомобилем-то мы зря назвали, ибо двигателя у него нет. Макет, стало быть, не ходовой. Так зачем вообще показали его в Париже? По словам итальянцев, это прежде всего дизайнерское исследование. Оно сотрудникам Centro Stile Lamborghini несомненно удалось. Облик получился уникальным, бескомпромиссным и, без сомнения, фирменным. Спутать эту машину невозможно ни с чем, от торжества стиля и смелых форм публика буквально визжит от восторга. Здесь великолепно все – от «забрала» воздухозаборников а-ля Reventon и до кончиков элегантных задних светодиодов.Но почему четыре двери? Почему седан?В ответ на эти вопросы мы слышим сущую нелепицу. Дескать, можно взять с собой семью в дальнюю поездку или в театр, а багажник добавит практичности. Длинная база обеспечит комфорт при ежедневном использовании… Стоп! С каких это пор владельцы карбоновых суперкаров Lamborghini стали примерными семьянинами и интересуются размером багажного отсека? Кто это вдруг решил, что длительные поездки в спортивном кресле в полулежачем состоянии будут несказанно приятны? И, наконец, многие ли из вас хоть раз в жизни катались на Lamborghini с мотором впереди? То-то. Потому многие теперь гадают, играются итальянцы или у них серьезные намерения.
